Meet Kim David
Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), Qualifying
Hello, I'm Kim. I'm glad you're here.
I know that looking for a therapist can feel both hopeful and uncertain. Many people spend a long time carrying things on their own before considering therapy.
Some arrive here with a clear understanding of what they would like help with. Others simply have a growing sense that something in their life no longer feels quite right. Sometimes there is no crisis at all, only a feeling that something is no longer working in the way it once did.
Whatever brings you here, I hope this page helps you get a sense of who I am, how I work, and the kind of support I offer.
Who I Work With
I work with adults and couples who may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
Many of the people I work with appear capable on the outside while privately carrying significant stress, relationship difficulties, self-doubt, grief, or the lingering effects of earlier life experiences.
Some clients come to therapy because they are struggling in their relationships. Others are navigating major life transitions, burnout, loss, or a growing sense that they have lost connection with themselves.
I provide support for:
- Anxiety and overwhelm
- Emotional exhaustion and burnout
- Relationship and couples concerns
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions and starting over
- Self-esteem and confidence difficulties
- Stress and work-related pressures
- Earlier life experiences and attachment wounds
- Feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about the future
My Approach
I believe therapy begins with creating a space where you do not have to carry everything alone.
Many of the people I work with have spent years managing, coping, and pushing forward despite feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally exhausted. Often they have become so used to carrying these burdens that they rarely have the opportunity to slow down and make sense of them.
My role is not to provide quick answers or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I offer a thoughtful and supportive space where we can explore what is happening beneath the surface and understand how your experiences, relationships, and patterns may be shaping the difficulties you face today.
I work collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of your experiences while creating space for meaningful and lasting change.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in emotional safety. I draw from attachment-based, person-centred, and EMDR-informed approaches, adapting therapy to your individual needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all model.

Professional Background & Experience
Training & Education
I hold a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Arts degree, and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I have additional training in EMDR and draw from attachment-based, solution-focused, person-centred, and trauma-informed approaches in my work.
International & Multicultural Experience
Before establishing my practice in Ontario, I spent more than a decade working in psychotherapy and mental health settings in Scotland and later in private practice in Paris, France. These experiences allowed me to support adults and couples from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and professional backgrounds. Working across different countries and communities deepened my understanding of how culture, identity, family history, and life circumstances shape emotional wellbeing.
Therapeutic Approach
My work is grounded in emotional safety, collaboration, and respect for each person's unique experience. I draw from attachment-based, person-centred, solution-focused, trauma-informed, and EMDR-informed approaches. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel understood, supported, and able to explore their experiences at a pace that feels manageable.
